Definitely Dead Review

Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris

Sixth in the Anthony Award-winning Southern Vampire series.

Spiked with a frothy fusion of romance, mystery, and fantasy, this bestselling series sends the supernaturally gifted cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse to New Orleans, where she has to deal with the legacy of one of her own family and a host of potentially dangerous characters.

*sighs* I've waited for months to read this book. I read the first 5 over the summer and have had this one on hold for months!

There were really two mysteries in this book. 1st) They had to find out how Hadley died and who killed her, how a Were got turned into a vampire and why he was turned. 2nd) They had to find out who was attacking and stalking Sookie and why. Both of those are solved.

It actually didn't seem like a lot happened in this book because it wasn't contanst action, at least until the very end when we find out who had been attacking Sookie and Quinn. Sookie is dating Quinn now and they were attacked a few times and even kidnapped near the end. We also got to see/read Quinn as a tiger. A Bengal tiger. *sighs dreamily*

There wasn't much Eric but there was an unexpected kiss from the Viking vampire on a equally unexpecting Sookie in the midst of a ballroom brawl. We got to meet the Queen, saw the emotional side of her, and we heard about Hadley and her death.

Oh, witches! We meet Ameilia, a witch from New Orleans and we get to see some super cool witch stuff. It's awesome.

Jason, Sam and Tara aren't in it as much but we go get an appearance from Calvin Norris. Caludine and Claude make appearances as well but not together.

Over all it was a great book. I read most of it in one day. I ejoyed reading Sookie again and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. It's funny and romantic and so real.

*Updated the my 2009 Book List!
